Peter Tian

Peter Tian is Group Treasurer for Equitable Holdings and a member of the company’s Operating Committee. As Group Treasurer, he is responsible for the company’s capital, liquidity and hedging strategies. In addition, he leads the company’s third-party debt and funding strategies along with managing banking relationships. He is a member of the company’s Capital and Liquidity, Hedging and Investment and Risk steering committees.

Most recently, Mr. Tian served as Head of Product and In-Force Management for Equitable’s Individual Retirement business, where he oversaw product development, new business pricing and in-force optimization initiatives.

Mr. Tian began his career at Equitable in 2019 as the Deputy Chief Risk Officer, overseeing the company’s market risk, credit risk and insurance risk management functions as well as stress testing and product governance. 

Prior to his tenure with Equitable, Peter was a Principal at Oliver Wyman, advising U.S. and global life insurers on corporate strategy, product design, in-force optimization, capital and liquidity management and regulatory advocacy.

Mr. Tian earned a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, from Yale University in Biomedical Engineering with distinction.
