Eligible academic and administrative employees of public institutions of higher education who are covered under the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), School Employees Retirement System (SERS), or State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) may choose not to participate in the state retirement system and instead enroll in the Ohio Alternative Retirement Program (ARP).
