Qualifying Leave Reasons

  • Employee’s own serious health condition
  • Bond with a new child (birth, adoption, or foster care placement)
  • Child receiving care in the neonatal intensive care unit
  • Care for a family member with a serious health condition
  • Qualifying military exigency
  • Safe leave (victim of domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault or abuse)

Benefit Amount

90% of employees average wages up to 50% of the statewide average weekly wage; plus 50% of an employee’s average wages in excess of 50% of the statewide average weekly wage

Maximum Weekly Benefit

$1,381.45

Maximum Leave Duration

  • 12 weeks in any 12-month period for all leave reasons
  • Up to an additional 4 weeks is available for a serious health condition related to pregnancy complications or childbirth complications
  • Up to an additional 12 weeks is available for a child receiving care in the neonatal intensive care unit

Contributions

Employee: 0.44% of employee taxable wage base (effective 1/1/26)

Employer: 0.44% of employee taxable wage base (effective 1/1/26)

  • Employer can choose to pay all of the cost
  • Employee contributions under a private plan cannot exceed those required under the state plan
  • Employers with fewer than 10 employees are not required to contribute the employer’s portion
