2. Who is Corebridge and why merge with them?

  • Corebridge is one of the largest and most established providers of life insurance and retirement solutions in the U.S., with a 100-year track record of delivering on the promises made to their policyholders. Similarly, Equitable has been innovating in the life and retirement sector since 1859.
  • Now we will unite two well-established brands with highly complementary portfolios and a shared commitment to putting policyholders first.
  • This merger is about creating a company with greater scale and leading positions across retirement, life insurance, wealth management and asset management.
  • Together, our powerful distribution platform, diverse portfolio, and technology investments will elevate what we can deliver for our clients. That means more choice and broader access to investment and retirement solutions.

3. Will Equitable’s name change as part of the merger?

  • No. The new company will be called Equitable, reflecting the strength, value and trust in our 167-year-old brand.
  • While our name will not change, our brand identity will evolve to align to our broader, diversified portfolio, our business needs and our aspirations for the new company. 

4. How does this merger change the products and services Equitable offers?

  • There are no immediate changes to Equitable’ products and services.
  • Until the close of the merger, it is business as usual and Equitable and Corebridge will operate as standalone companies.
  • Looking ahead, our highly complementary businesses will combine to expand our suite of offerings to meet customers’ retirement and protection needs.

5. Will my Equitable policy/contract and account stay the same? 

  • Yes. Your existing policy and account remain the same.
  • The terms, benefits and guarantees you have today do not change as a result of the merger.

6. Will my Equitable Advisor or point of contact stay the same?

  • Yes. Your relationship with your advisor remains the same — including your points of contact — and there are no changes to how Equitable works with you.
  • We remain committed to Equitable Advisors and there are no changes to how our financial professionals serve their clients as a result of the merger.

7. Are my rates, fees or premiums changing?

  • There are no changes to rates, fees or premiums as a result of the merger.

8. Does this affect guarantees, riders or benefits in my contract?

  • There are no changes to guarantees, riders or benefits as a result of the merger.

9. Will this affect my investment options?

  • There are no changes to your investment options because of the merger.

10. Will my account number or login credentials change?

  • No. You can continue using your current login and account information.

11. Do I need to take any action?

  • No action is required. It remains business as usual and there is nothing you need to do as a result of this announcement.

12. Will there be any changes to customer services as a result of the merger?

  • Ensuring that this process is seamless for our customers is a top priority for Equitable.
  • In fact, as we work to integrate the two companies following the close, customers will benefit from the combined capabilities and scale of both companies.
