FAQs

Equitable’s Retirement Gateway® Association is a turnkey retirement program for endorsing associations built on one of our group variable annuities. It’s designed to make retirement plan setup and management easier for association members.

The Retirement Gateway® Association program is ideal for endorsing association members that want a simple, affordable way to offer a workplace retirement plan to employees.

Because a dedicated team handles plan design and setup end‑to‑end, you can get up and running with less burden on your staff.

Yes. You can choose from two independent registered advisor firms for fiduciary support—or work with your own advisor if you prefer.

You’ll have multiple retirement plan designs to choose from which are scoped during plan design, plus a range of investment strategies. Employees can also access a fixed‑interest rate option and guaranteed withdrawals for life.

As with all group variable annuities, there are contract limitations, administrative fees, and investment management charges. Equitable will provide full cost details in your disclosure brochure and trust prospectus during the quote/plan design process.

Withdrawals are taxed as ordinary income and may be subject to an additional 10% federal tax penalty if taken before age 59½ although exceptions may apply. Rollovers from other eligible plans are tracked separately and may have their own rules.

Schedule a call or request a fee quote/plan design or call a retirement program specialist at (800) 523‑1125.

You’ll receive a tailored plan design outline, a transparent fee and expense breakdown, an overview of investment options (including fixed‑interest and lifetime withdrawal features), implementation steps and timelines, state availability confirmation, and required disclosure materials to review with your team.

Retirement Gateway® Association is the marketing name for the Retirement Gateway® group annuity in the association marketplace.

A group variable annuity is a long-term financial product designed for retirement purposes. In essence, a group variable annuity is a contractual agreement in which payment(s) are made on behalf of retirement plan participants to an insurance company, which agrees to pay out an income or a lump sum amount at a later date to those participants. There are contract limitations and fees and charges associated with group variable annuities, which include, but are not limited to, administrative fees and charges for investment management. Withdrawals from annuities are subject to normal income tax treatment and, if taken prior to age 59½, may be subject to an additional 10% federal income tax penalty. Amounts rolled over from another eligible plan are tracked separately and may be subject to an additional 10% federal tax income penalty if withdrawn. Contact a financial professional for costs and complete details.

Because an annuity contract would be used to fund this qualified employer-sponsored retirement arrangement, you should purchase the annuity contract for its features and benefits other than tax deferral. For such cases, tax deferral is not an additional benefit of the annuity. You may also want to consider the relative features, benefits and costs of this annuity with any other investment that you may have in connection with your retirement plan or arrangement.

This material is not a complete description of all material provisions of the contract. Please read the Retirement Gateway disclosure brochure carefully before purchasing a contract. Certain types of contracts and features may not be available in all jurisdictions.
