Vision insurance

Encourages you to see an eye doctor regularly by paying all or some of the cost for eye exams, frames and lenses

One of the best ways to maintain healthy eyes is to visit the eye doctor regularly. This benefit can make those visits less costly and more convenient. We partnered with a vision network, VSP®, so you can choose from over 40,000 providers at 108,000 access points, including 1,800 retail locations.

What it does

Pays for eye exams, frames and lenses. Check with your benefits representative for your company’s specific plan details.

How it works

Go to one of the VSP® member locations and this benefit will pay for your eye exam and many of the glasses and lenses available, if you need them. You can use any provider but going in-network will maximize savings.

What it doesn't do

Pay for certain types of special lenses or eye surgery.

Protection you have to see to believe

Video transcript:
At Equitable, we help you take steps toward a brighter future, whether than means figuring out how to save money in the short term or keeping yourself protected throughout life. That can include making smart choices about medical expenses that meet your needs.

Take Lisa: She lives in Chicago, working as an architect. She loves spending time in the studio, but needs glasses to see every detail of her sketches and blueprints.

So Lisa made it a priority to purchase vision insurance through her employer. Last week, Lisa got an eye exam at an in-network location, and today she’s picking up new frames and lenses. Although every plan is different, Lisa’s only costs a few dollars a month when a specific amount, known as premium, is deducted from each paycheck. Fortunately, her plan offered savings on both her exam and glasses. This can save Lisa hundreds of dollars over time, leaving some extra money to put towards her student loans, and even dinner with friends.

A routine eye exam can uncover other serious health conditions, which is why vision insurance can help you feel protected and prepared. So speak to your benefits representative about your options for vision insurance. It can help you live life more confidently and clearly as you work towards your future.
