How dental insurance works
Dental insurance pays for all or part of procedures such as regular cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals and braces, as well as preventative services such as teeth cleaning and exams, based on your employer’s plan. Other services may be covered in part or wholly, depending on the specifics of your plan. Notably, dental insurance does not cover all costs for all dental procedures, so be sure to check with your company’s benefits representative for more information on your company’s specific plan details.
Oral health impacts overall health
Periodontal disease affects at least 2 in 5 adults aged 45−64 years, and has been studied in relation to nearly 60 other adverse health conditions, including diabetes, heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease.1
